Sri Lankan Army kills two more civilians in Jaffna

Sources in Jaffna reported that two civilians were shot dead and another seriously injured by Sri Lankan Army Intelligence Agents while having snacks at a local tea shop.

The incident is said to have occurred at 7p.m. local time on Thursday night in Neervely area of the occupied Jaffna peninsula. The deceased are reported as Mr. Kunaratnam Krishnakumar, 34 and Mr. Sinnaiah Sivakaran, 24 and the injured civilian is Mr. K. Rooban, 24.

Local villagers said that the latest targets of the Military’s assassination squad were involved in decorating local streets for the recent National Heroes’ Day.

A civilian involved in decoration work was shot dead in Neervely just last week.
