On this day in 1984

Thirty-two Tamil villagers were massacred by the Sri Lankan Armed Forces in the village of Othiyamalai, North of the Weli Oya (Tamil area of Manal Aaru renamed by Sinhala forces) colonization programme.

The victims were found; hands tied behind their back and with gun shot wounds, in a cultural hall.

LankaUpdate joins the Tamil community around the world in remembering the innocent victims.
