Samaraweera to be in charge of Peace Rhetoric

It appears that the Sri Lankan President has put his right hand man Mangala Samaraweera in charge of the government’s Peace Rhetoric.

Samaraweera, the country’s Foreign Minister was also the man responsible for the grand coalition of SLFP-JVP-JHU. He headed Rajapaksa’s successful election campaigns and succeeded in gathering 4.8 million Sinhala Buddhist votes for the President.

Sources in Colombo report that the President has great confidence in Samaraweera and expects him to win over the international community in the same manner he had won over the JVP, JHU and the Sinhala Buddhist masses.

The Foreign Minister is also expected to fly out to New Delhi to meet the Indian Prime Minister and get his blessings for the government’s plans for peace or war.
