Civilians fear as forces take position

Civilians in Jaffna are reporting that heavy artillery’s and other military equipments are being transported from the Pallali air base and other Sri Lankan Army camps to the front line at Kilaali. The movement of forces in large numbers to the front line has raised concerns amongst the war weary public of Jaffna.

It is notable that the new president has promised to amend the cease fire agreement and has forged close relationships with the JVP (Marxist Sinhalese extremist) and JHU (Buddhist Monk party) both of whom had opposed the peace process from the very beginning.
